Nadco Tapes & Labels Minimizes Downtime with Digital Technology
Custom adhesive specialist Nadco Tapes and Labels has added digital capability to their business through the acquisition of a Mark Andy Digital One. Like other early adopters of the hybrid technology, Neil Doniger, Owner of Nadco Tapes and Labels was introduced to Digital One around the time of Labelexpo Americas 2016.
Digital One is a small footprint dry-toner label press engineered by Mark Andy. The US-based manufacturer has made strides in recent years establishing a comprehensive hybrid portfolio with various entry points for all businesses. Digital One, the entry-level unit, is made up of in-line converting and finishing, flexo decoration, and high-quality digital print.
Nadco’s facility is located in Sarasota, Florida
“Mark Andy didn’t just sell us a press, they sold us a future,” affirmed Doniger when reflecting on his experience with the Digital One and its ability to help his business reduce stock inventory by 5%. “At Nadco, we are proud of our ability to bend industry norms, doing things people haven’t done before and solving problems for the printing and die-cutting world. This digital press is an extension of that, making us one of the best-kept secrets in the converting market.”
Nadco was not entirely new to digital printing, but leery about investing in another digital press due to a prior experience with an unreliable asset that did not meet their needs. Digital was in its infancy when they acquired their first digital press from another manufacturer and it was not ready to meet their expectations. Luckily, the Mark Andy solution eliminated every issue they faced, minimizing costly downtime, operator dissatisfaction, and click-charges.
For leadership at Nadco, capability and application range of a digital hybrid asset were the most important factors in their decision making process. The low investment level of Digital One was simply an added bonus. “Lack of the need for expensive topcoat is a game changer” shared Doniger “This flexibility paired with our current expertise in tape now allows us to service any market worldwide.”
