On-Demand Webinar Available Now: “Digital Pro: Beyond the Label”
Print businesses’ challenges, the need for differentiation, and portfolio expansion through non-traditional applications – these were the main topics of our recent webinar hosted on 20 November. The event marks the second in a series dedicated to the Digital Pro platform, following “Digital Pro: A New Path to Profitability” webinar, also available on-demand.
Digital Pro was introduced to the market during last year’s Labelexpo Europe trade fair. The press was designed mainly for label converters, with a base hybrid configuration that supports over 80% of prime label applications. However, Digital Pro can also be used in the commercial production space allowing printers to expand their offerings to customers and create new revenue streams. “According to a NAPCO market research, 95% of printers believe there is opportunity to better serve their customers by providing services other than what they currently provide. In fact, 33% of them have already expanded their services or are actively taking steps to do so, and 39% of printers are actively researching new opportunities”, said Stu Gallup, webinar speaker and leader of the commercial printing division at Mark Andy, emphasizing the importance of rethinking businesses portfolio due to shorter run lengths, faster leads times and labor shortage.
With the goal of broadening the horizons of what printers can accomplish “beyond the label” with Digital Pro, Mark Andy ran 3 jobs live in the U.S. Technology Center – gift tags embellished with cast & cure, laminated door hangers, and business cards with soft-touch varnish and rounded corners. During the demonstration, Gallup talked about technical specifications of the machine such as semi-rotary die-cut, pre engine flexo station, true 77 fpm speed, low cost to print, and supported substrate range, and also addressed the modularity and interchangeability of the machine due to press upgrades like the conveyor system and the bypass module.
