Mark Andy Develops Certified Digital Press Rebuild Program
With the introduction of second-generation digital presses, Mark Andy recognized an opportunity to further support converters through expanding their certified rebuild presses to include reconditioned Digital One and Digital Series presses.
As more Digital One and Digital Series customers continue to upgrade to the next generation of their digital hybrid presses, an inventory of digital presses will continue to be generated, providing converters with lower capital equipment budget the opportunity to find a machine that is suitable to their needs. The trade-in program is a direct result of an increase in the demand for new technology, as well as increasing inquiries for second-hand, leading brand equipment in growing economies.
Following suit with Mark Andy’s existing pre-owned equipment program, all digital presses will be reconditioned to OEM specifications at the United States headquarters in St. Louis, Missouri. Each rebuilt machine is fully tested, run through stringent acceptance tests and held to the same standards expected of all new equipment.
Machines will be sold globally by both Mark Andy representatives and through gb Flexo Equipment, its secondary market partner. gb Flexo Equipment is located in Green Bay, Wisconsin and has a long history of serving the pre-owned market segment.
Of their new partnership as an authorized Mark Andy digital press reseller, Scott Waldal, Chief Operations Officer, gb Flexo Equipment, comments “We’ve partnered with Mark Andy for years on flexo and are excited to extend our business into digital with them as an authorized dealer of their first-generation Digital Ones.”
On the growth of the Mark Andy digital solutions, Dave Medlar, VP of Digital, Mark Andy Digital, explains “We’re excited about the market segments this will unlock for our customers. Mark Andy’s digital solutions are growing and with that growth, customers are reinvesting in new products, allowing them to trade-in existing Mark Andy digital presses. This has enabled other accounts to take the leap into digital labels at a more attainable price point.”
Currently available for sale and immediate delivery is an inventory of Digital One hybrid presses. Customers purchasing pre-owned digital equipment will receive access to consumables and the same service and support as new installs.
